Ames Intense English Class with Native Speakers

Dates of Sessions: June 28-30, July 1 (see program below)
Teachers: Lead teacher James Hill, M.Ed (USA) and other guest native speakers.
Cost: 75 grivna for any 3 hour session, 200 grivna for a full day or any three sessions of your choice (9 hours), 400 grivna for entire class (22 hours)
Bonuses and discounts: Bring a friend and friend has a -50% discount. University students -10% discount, prepay and register -10% ( no more than one discount). FOR anyone that pays for at least 1 session you may come for FREE on June 30th from 18:00-21:00. Coffee and tea will be served for free by Ames.

The Sessions: Each session is three hours (60 minute hour). The session starts with a 30 minute introduction of the topic, key points, important vocabulary followed by a specific grammar exercise, a short coffee break and a 90 minute interactive discussion on the theme. The sessions are designed to be highly informative and interactive with relevant vocabulary. Multi-media projector will be used. Students can attend whatever sessions they want. The sessions are not related.
The Program and Topics:
June 28:
session # 1; Friday 18:00-21:00 (3 hours): Discussion topic: Improving Relationships at Work and at Home (friendship, love, breaking up, etc...)
June 29:
session #2; Saturday: 9-12:00 (3 hours) Discussion topic: “ The Art of Public Speaking” (giving a speech, leadership skills, being more self-confident)
Question and Answer 13:30-14:00 (questions can be related to grammar or discussion topic)
session #3; Saturday: 14:00-17:00 (3 hours) Discussion topic: “Business English , Making and Saving Money” (manipulation, budgeting, advertising, consumerism etc..)
Session #4; Saturday: 18:00-21:00 (3 hours) Discussion topic: “Healthy lifestyles” (exercise, diet, medicine, addictions, drugs, and bad habits etc..)
June 30:
sessions #5: Sunday 9-12:00 Discussion topic: “Happiness and positive psychology” (dealing with fears, being more optimistic, increasing positive moods, hobbies that help us)
Question and Answer; 13:30-14:00 (questions can be related to grammar or discussion topic)
session #6; Sunday 14:00-17:00 Discussion topic: “Travel and Adventure” (cross-cultural relationships, places you want to go, “bucket lists”, thrill seeking etc.)
session-#7; Sunday 18:00-21:00 Discussion topic: “Moral dilemmas” (what would you do if...?, choosing the lesser of two evils, plus a short film). Very good session for interactive conversations and debate. July 1th
session #8: Monday 18:00-21:00, Discussion Topic: Job Interviewing Skills and self-presentation. This is a great session for HR managers or anyone looking for a job. This session is FREE for anyone attending a (1) previous session. The cost otherwise is 50 grivna.
AMES FILM CLUB: I will run a couple of films plus discussions that are FREE for anyone attending at least one session. The first film will be “Life of PI”(2012). Time to be announced.
If anyone is coming from outside Lviv, we can arrange for low cost accommodations for the weekend.
General Conditions and things to keep in mind:
Please bring a paper notebook and take notes. There will be handouts with specific vocabulary. Ask questions! There is no rule that you have to speak but these are interactive classes. Take advantage of the discounts. You can also communicate with Ames and myself on VK. Please follow my updates there especially involving some of the guest speakers that are planning to come.
